After nearly two seasons of long, hard fighting, the U-12 Burbank Moxie headed up to Lancaster, California and won their first tournament championship. To see girls work that hard – night after night, game after game, to see them battle through slumps, questionable referees, critical parents (always loving but sometimes VERY critical parents), and waking up at ridiculous hours to get to tournaments far away has been a great inspiration for all involved.
A heartfelt congratulations to Angie, Sarah, Sammers, Sammy, Noelle, Sally, Oli, B.C., Brianna, Kat and Sabrina. And to coach Ruben for all his hard work.
You girls make your parents and Burbank very proud indeed.

Playing through injuries and no substitutes Marcos Rivas boys U19 showed a lot of character by reaching the championship game. Participating in their first AYSO tournament of the year, the boys performed extremely well placing 2nd at the Founders Cup, one of the toughest tournaments in the Los Angeles area – losing only by a goal margin against a very tough Torrance team.
Please congratulate our boys on an excellent performance.
Welcome friend,
Thank you for visiting the home page of AYSO’s Region 254, an area that includes Burbank, North Hollywood and Toluca Lake. My name is Oscar Barraza and I am the Regional Commisioner. Along with the executive board members, I am happy to welcome you to our new site. Whether you are new to the AYSO community, or someone with years of experience, here you will find everything you need to make your experience with our organization simpler, more productive and enjoyable. We are deeply committed to promoting the core values of AYSO and to providing our children with a safe, fun, healthy program that instills positive lessons – lessons that will last a lifetime.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to call us directly at 818.841.2976 or email me personally o.barraza@ayso254.org Often times a large organization can feel intimidating and impersonal. It is my goal to foster a true sense of community, one that is inclusive, welcoming and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our children. AYSO is simply good people, mostly parents, who are deeply committed to making a difference.
If you are already involved in AYSO, I would like to personally thank you for the hard work, dedication and time you give to our community. If you’re not involved, I would like to personally invite you to become involved. The hardest part is truly taking the first step.
Thank you very much for visiting our site, and for taking the time to engage with our community.
Sincerely,
Oscar Barraza
Regional Commissioner
Burbank AYSO Region 254
Having played this exact tournament last year and finishing dead last, and despite losing two players to injury, Burbank GU12 team “Moxie” showed a lot of courage and determination posting a 1-1-1 record. Finishing the tournament just 1 goal short of medal play.
Congrats all around to the Coach Ruben, Eddie and the girls for all their hard work!
